ARE OPEN SOURCE OPERATING SYSTEMS INHERENTLY MORE SECURE?
Red Hat asserts that open source operating systems are inherently more secure than proprietary alternatives. The Open Source Security Summit, held on October 28th in Washington, DC, provided an open forum to discuss how open source technology and processes meet the challenge of securing networks and computer systems. It included speakers from the White House Office of Cyberspace Security, DISA, and the CERTA Coordination Center, among others. If you weren't able to attend the Security Summit in person, you can still learn more about the issues discussed at the event.
